Plans for A701 Relief Road and A702 Link Road on show

Midlothian Council is holding a second drop in where people can hear more about, and give their views on, the final proposed route for the A701 Relief Road and the A702 Link Road.
The event is on Thursday 14 August between 4pm and 7pm at Bilston Primary School, EH25 9SD.
What local people tell the council could help fine tune the planning application to be submitted on the council’s behalf later this year by consultants, Wardell Armstrong. A preferred route has been developed after local people were consulted on options in 2021.
The route selected after the last consultation has changed slightly between Straiton junction and Seafield Moor because of the ground conditions. It is this final proposed route, including this change, that the council wants to hear views on.
For further information or if you cannot come to the drop-in and would like to submit your views:
- Email A701@wardell-armstrong.com or
- Write to Neil Sutherland, Wardell Armstrong/SLR, The Tun, 4 Jackson’s Entry, Edinburgh, Edinburgh, EH8 8PJ
Any comments should be received no later than Thursday 21 August 2025.
