Plans lodged for wind farm near Alva

Plans submitted for creation of wind farm near Alva

An application for consent and planning permission has been submitted for a wind farm that will partially be in Clackmannanshire. 

The wind farm will be made up of up to 13 wind turbines, 35MW of battery energy storage and associated ancillary infrastructure. 



Known as Windburn Wind Farm, the proposed renewable energy development will be on land within the Ochil Hills, approximately 2.9km north of Alva. 

The plans were submitted by Windburn Wind Farm Limited on June 24 under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 for the Scottish Ministers’ consent. Clackmannanshire Council received an application on July 10.

They are currently in the consultation phase.
