Plans submitted for 22 new homes in Scotlandwell

Glenrothes-based company Scotwell has applied for permission to build 22 new homes on the southern fringes of Scotlandwell.

The firm hopes to build the homes on a site south of the village’s Friar Place adjacent to the southbound B920.

A design and access statement submitted to Perth and Kinross Council last month confirmed that the proposals meet requirements set out in the council’s latest Local Development Plan (LDP), The Perthshire Adviser reports.

It reads: “The project aims to provide a mixture of affordable and mainstream housing in a site of 22 units and varied plot sizes to create a layout that sits comfortably alongside the existing village.

“The design of the site plan and the houses has taken its lead from the existing plans, layout and texture of buildings and intends to provide housing that is a positive benefit to the area. The design of the development also applies the requirements of the LDP in all respects.”

The application and all its associated documents and drawings can be viewed now on the council’s website.
