Plans submitted for five new homes in Throsk

Euroroute Ltd has submitted a planning application to Stirling Council to build five new homes on land to the west of 40 Kersie Road.

It is believed that the homes will consist of two semi-detached units and one detached, the Stirling Observer reports.

While planners have yet to make a decision, council roads officials have responded to the consultation, saying: “from the information submitted in support of the application, it is understood that the site is proposed to be accessed via a new access formed off the un-named public road which serves Bandeath Industrial Estate.

“Access to this road is provided from a simple priority junction taken off the A905 within the settlement of Throsk. The existing junction currently caters for a number of large vehicle movements (such as HGVS) associated with the existing industrial facilities within the industrial estate. There are no known issues with the geometry or construction of this junction, and sufficient junction visibility splays are available.”

The road officials added: “Pedestrian connection is also made at this access point, with the footways running along the A905 continuing along the un-named private road. A Core Path exists along the access road to the Industrial Estate from the A905. It is not anticipated that the proposed development will have a material impact upon the Core Path, other than impacts related to the construction phase of the development. As such, cognisance should be taken of the importance of maintaining access to this route.”

They concluded that the development is classified as a small scale trip generator and as such, no formal transport assessment is required to be undertaken in support of this submission.

They said: “Given the allocated status of this site, and with an understanding of previous approvals for housing in this location being supported by our service, alongside the small scale of the site, the Transport Development Team would not object to this application, subject to conditions being applied to any consent granted.”
