Aberdeen-based Greenwell Equipment, which supplies containers, modular buildings, office cabins, pallet racking and office furniture, has this month shipped modular buildings to the new relief road project at Manchester Airport and a head office for construction workers at Tornagrain, the new town being built near Inverness, through contracts won on the back of work carried out on the new Queensferry Crossing project team and the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route Balmedie-Tipperty (AWPR/B-T) project.

The company, which is based in East Tullos, has supplied 170 units to the new bypass project in Aberdeen and 240 units to the new Forth Road crossing. The modular buildings will be used as office accommodation, welfare facilities, locker rooms and meeting rooms.

Greenwell Equipment has been the authorised trading partner and stockist of Containex products for many years. Containex is the largest cabin and modular building manufacturer in Europe. For the last two years Greenwell has been the second largest distributor in the UK for sales of Containex cabins and modular buildings.

The firm has been awarded contracts from across the UK, and this month has shipped modular buildings to the new relief road project at Manchester Airport and a head office for construction workers at Tornagrain, the new town being built near Inverness. Greenwell Equipment’s shipping container business is also expanding outside of the north-east with orders despatched this month from its three North-east storage depots to Shetland and the Falklands.”

Scott Brown, sales manager at Greenwell, said: “We are delighted to be working on two of Scotland’s most prestigious construction projects. Greenwell has grown from a small family business to become a recognised leader in our field. We have worked closely with oil and gas clients to deliver high quality services and competitive prices, and this has given us an advantage when tendering for public contracts. We have superior quality products and our ISO certifications prove our commitment to a quality service and product for all customers.”

Greenwell MD, Mark Turnbull, said: “These construction projects prove that Aberdeen companies are well respected and can compete alongside any other business in Scotland. The drop in the oil price has hit us all, but a quality product and outstanding service can result in excellent working relationships, and exciting new projects.”
