£12,000 raised for British Heart Foundation through golf day
A total of £12,000 has been raised for the British Heart Foundation through an annual charity golf day, which is sponsored by Campion Homes.
The event, which was held at Lundin Golf Club and Lundin Ladies Golf Club, saw nearly 100 golfers from across Fife and beyond for a day of golf, fundraising and friendship.
For this year, the charity was selected by the Lundin Golf Club committee in memory of their dear friend and respected council member, John Moncrieff, whose association with the club made the fundraising efforts at the event an appropriate tribute.
The fundraising amount was enhanced by a charity raffle and auction, supported by Campion Homes suppliers, subcontractors and the local business community.
Pete Bell, chairman of Campion Homes, said: “This event is always a highlight of the year, bringing together colleagues, partners, friends and supporters for a fantastic day while raising money for an important cause.
Bell added: “This year was particularly special as we supported the British Heart Foundation in memory of John Moncrieff.
“The generosity shown by everyone involved was remarkable, and the £12,000 raised will help the British Heart Foundation continue its vital work funding lifesaving research and supporting those affected by heart and circulatory disease.”
David McColgan, head of BHF Scotland, said: “Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love to cardiovascular disease, the world’s biggest killer, but with [the] support of our wonderful public fundraisers, British Heart Foundation (BHF) continues to power groundbreaking research to save and improve lives.”
