£1.25m investment sees delivery of golf maintenance depot for Fife Golf Trust
A £1.25 million investment from Fife Council has been delivered with the opening of Fife Golf Trust’s new golf course maintenance depot at Glenrothes Golf Course.
The facility has been designed to transform maintenance activity, equipment storage and operational deployment across the Trust’s seven golf courses.
The depot provides modern workshop facilities for the sharpening, servicing, repair and preparation of Fife Golf Trust’s extensive fleet of course maintenance machinery.
The building is fitted with solar panels and has been made to accommodate Fife Golf Trust’s new fleet of electric and hybrid maintenance machinery, with charging facilities supporting the transition to greener activity.
The investment is anticipated to deliver a 60 - 70% decrease in fuel consumption and associated carbon emissions, while also cutting servicing and maintenance costs.
Councillor Linda Erskine, Fife Council’s spokesperson for Communities and Leisure, said: “This £1.25 million investment demonstrates our commitment to supporting high-quality golf facilities across Fife while helping deliver our environmental ambitions.
“Public golf courses play an important role in ensuring the game remains accessible and affordable for local people of all ages and abilities.”
Erskine added: “By investing in the facilities and infrastructure that support our courses, we’re helping protect these valued community assets and ensuring they can continue to be enjoyed by residents and visitors for years to come.”
Neil Crooks, chairman of Fife Golf Trust’s Board, said: “The completion of this facility marks a significant milestone for Fife Golf Trust.
“It provides the infrastructure needed to support our teams across all seven courses, improves how we maintain and manage our equipment, and strengthens our ongoing commitment to sustainability.”
Now fully operational, the new facility will support maintenance activities across all seven Fife Golf Trust courses.
