Reid Mitchell and HD Property Consultants merge to form integrated construction consultancy

Reid Mitchell and HD Property Consultants have today announced a merger to form a single, integrated construction consultancy providing project management, cost management, building surveying, CDM consultancy, and fund monitoring services.
The new venture, Reid Mitchell HD, will combine complementary strengths to deliver premium construction consultancy services for public and private sector clients across the UK.
Both Reid Mitchell and HD Property Consultants were founded in 2018 and have grown organically in parallel, developing their individual client bases in complementary sectors. Following the merger, Reid Mitchell HD has also transitioned to employee ownership, adopting a model which secures the independence of the combined business and aligns completely with the values and culture built by both businesses.

Drew Russell, a founding director of HD Property Consultants, added: “Both businesses have been built by delivering a director-led, premium service to our clients. This merger continues this ethos and will provide our clients with access to new services and a deeper pool of resource whilst maintaining our focus on service. The merger supports our continued investment in innovation and growth, enabling us to compete effectively for larger-scale commissions and frameworks.”
For clients, all existing contracts, frameworks, project teams and contact points will remain in place with no change to the existing service delivery model. The move also provides a broader set of in-house experts across project management, cost management, building surveying, CDM consultancy and development monitoring services.
In addition, the larger team will provide greater resilience for clients of both businesses and a commitment to maintaining business independence, focused on employees and delivering for clients.

The combined business has an enviable track record in sectors such as corporate workplace, hotels, commercial, higher education, and the wider public sector, and the intention is to continue growth of the business through specific sector focus.
The merger brings together a team of 38 across offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh. A new Aberdeen office is also being launched in December with a view to growing the client base in the North-East and servicing existing framework instructions.
