Riverside Scotland completes first Pennyburn retrofit project

Riverside Scotland has completed its first major retrofit project in Pennyburn, Kilwinning, just in time for Christmas.

The works, delivered in partnership with Glasgow-based energy services firm Union Technical, have transformed 30 homes within the community, enhancing comfort, sustainability, and energy efficiency.

The project, which began earlier this year, included the installation of new windows and doors, followed by new roofs, solar panels, and both external and cavity wall insulation. These improvements are designed to significantly reduce energy consumption, lower energy bills, and support Scotland’s net-zero targets.

The works have transformed the properties and given the area a real facelift. I can’t wait to enjoy a cosy Christmas in what feels like a new house.”
