Commercial property practice Ryden has continued the strategic growth of its building consultancy and project management division with the appointment of Roddy Morrison as Partner, further strengthening one of the firm’s key service lines.

Roddy Morrison joins Ryden in a dual role, bringing extensive industry experience from senior positions at CBRE and Turner & Townsend. His appointment comes during a sustained period of growth for Ryden’s Building Consultancy and Project Management teams, which have expanded significantly in recent years and now comprise approximately 30 professionals across Scotland.

The team has been further strengthened following the partnership with Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), which saw the addition of three new Partners in 2025, James Paterson, Fraser Ross and Paul Lafferty, enhancing the firm’s expertise and skilled capability across the Central Belt.

Together, Ryden’s Building Consultancy and Project Management teams now contribute around 30% of the firm’s total business, underlining the increasing importance of technical advisory and project-led services within the company’s multidisciplinary offering.

The team’s core work includes all areas of commercial property, including office, industrial, leisure and hotels, alongside specialist occupier services such as fit-outs, acquisitions and technical due diligence. The portfolio is also growing across the public sector including roles with NHS and education providers, while Ryden continues to expand in healthcare, veterinary and life sciences.

Recent instructions include working with Kadans Science Partner on Glasgow’s purpose-built Health Innovation Hub, the completion of Lucent at 50 Bothwell Street and a volume of instructions in the refurbishment of city centre office stock. Ryden also offers design capabilities and cost consultancy advice for clients.

Colin Busby, partner and head of building consultancy at Ryden, said: “The continued growth of our team reflects the increasing demand we are seeing from clients for expert technical advice, strategic project delivery and commercially focused property solutions.

“Roddy’s appointment further strengthens our project management capabilities and adds significant experience to an already highly skilled and collaborative building consultancy team. His expertise will support our growth ambitions, including opportunities across infrastructure, utilities and renewables.

“Over the past decade, we have worked hard to build a market-leading team by investing in talented people, retaining expertise and ensuring we continue to deliver a partner-led service to our clients. While current market conditions remain challenging, we continue to see strong demand for our services and remain confident in the resilience of the Scottish property sector and the opportunities ahead.”
