SBF membership rate restructure includes offer to new members
The Scottish Building Federation (SBF) has announced a significant restructuring of its membership subscription rates. The move aims to simplify the fee process and provide a level of financial support to construction companies across Scotland.
It is accompanied by an offer for any organisation working in construction to try out six months of membership for the price of just four months, which could now be as little as £215.
The changes reflect SBF’s commitment to supporting businesses as they adapt to the evolving needs of the industry.
Boasting a proud heritage of more than 130 years, the Federation is a not-for-profit organisation representing the diverse interests of the Scottish construction sector. Its membership reaches from Orkney to the Borders, encompassing small, medium-sized and large enterprises.
The core of this update is a more streamlined approach to corporate membership. The previous 12-tier subscription system has been reduced to nine turnover bands. The Federation has confirmed that fees have been frozen for bands A and B – which cover smaller businesses - while further benefit is derived from turnover thresholds increasing significantly. For members in the new bands C to I, subscription fees have reduced by 35%.
Managing director Paul Mitchell said: “Our goal is to make sure that the Federation remains relevant and accessible to the businesses we represent. By simplifying our banding and introducing significant fee reductions for the majority of our members, we are directly responding to the economic pressures facing the industry.
“We know that our members get great value for their investment from our vital work in delivering direct business support services, training, networking opportunities and lobbying. That is why we are also including this introductory offer to new members of six months’ membership for the price of four, letting them sample the support we can provide.”
SBF continues to offer a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to help organisations grow. Members gain access to an exclusive online portal containing essential templates, human resources policies and health and safety documentation.
The Federation also provides a “mark of quality” through the widely recognised SBF logo, which helps contractors build trust during tendering processes. Additionally, SBF acts as a powerful voice in government, lobbying on critical issues such as procurement, planning and craft apprenticeships.
