Scotbuild rebrands as SB Services and launches M&E division

Multi-trades construction company Scotbuild is to rebrand to SB Services as the firm launches a new Mechanical & Electrical division and makes three key appointments.
The new division will merge with the well-established electrical services business previously known as Calder Electrical, adopting the new SB Services identity and working alongside the company’s joinery, plumbing and decorating departments to offer clients a fully integrated multi-trade solution across the commercial, industrial, energy and residential sectors.
Highland service companies Scotbuild and Calder Electrical, were acquired by UK energy and infrastructure solutions provider Global in 2024 to strengthen its construction and building services portfolio.
At that time, Daniel Cormack was appointed as managing director to oversee the growth of the business.
On the rebrand and new focus on Mechanical & Electrical offering of the company, Cormack said: “This is an exciting milestone for the business which is now unified under one brand. The launch of SB Services and our new Mechanical division strengthens our ability to deliver larger and more complex projects across the North of Scotland.
“We’ve built a strong team with the right experience, accreditations and local presence and we’re looking forward to continuing that growth with both existing and new clients.”
SB Services has appointed Paul Richardson (mechanical operations manager) and John MacPherson (compliance and technical manager) to key roles in their new M&E division. Paul and John boast a combined 60+ years of experience in the M&E field.
SB Services M&E division will complement the company’s existing construction services offering.

SB Services M&E division will deliver a comprehensive suite of MEP services across the Commercial, Industrial, Energy and Residential sectors.
New mechanical operations manager, Paul Richardson, said: “I’m delighted to be joining SB Services at such an exciting stage in the company’s growth. There is a clear vision for building a strong, fully integrated MEP offering across the North of Scotland, and I’m looking forward to helping develop the Mechanical division alongside the wider team.

SB Services has also appointed Chris Ogg as operations manager. Chris brings significant operational and project delivery experience to the business and will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of SB Services.
