Scottish Construction Now lends support to Business Fives Construction heat

Business 5sScottish Construction Now has been named as joint industry partner alongside the Federation of Master Builders for the Construction heat of Scotland’s national business five-a-side tournament Business Fives.

After the success of the summer edition, Business Fives moves indoor for the winter ahead of Business Fours, the golf edition in spring.

The Construction heat is taking place on November 24 at the SoccerWorld venue in Glasgow.

Brian Berry, chief executive of the FMB, said: “The FMB is delighted to partner with Business Fives for its first ever national business 5-a-side tournament, which offers construction workers a chance to get off of the site and onto a pitch, all whilst supporting a fantastic cause. We’re sure the rough and tumble of working in construction will hold our members in excellent stead once the competition kicks off!”

Kieran Findlay, editor at Scottish Construction Now, added: “The chance to support a great tournament with an even better cause is something we could not pass up. We have long admired the work of Street Soccer Scotland and would encourage everyone in the sector to come along and show off their skills.”

For the indoor edition, Business Fives will be supporting the work of Street Soccer Scotland.

David Duke, CEO and founder of Street Soccer Scotland, said: “Street Soccer Scotland are delighted to be given the opportunity to partner with Business Fives. The money raised from the heats and tournaments goes directly to help the work we do 365 days a year with some of Scotland’s most disadvantaged and socially excluded people. We provide weekly, free drop-in sessions in Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee. Working alongside Business Fives allows us to spread our message of achieving social change through sport. Good luck to all those competing!”

As well as a great networking opportunity Business Fives give you the chance to bond with colleagues outside of the office environment.
