The new role will support delivery across the Scottish economic development agency’s three strategic priorities, supporting the scale of company innovation, ramping up the energy transition and heightening capital investment opportunities.

In Scotland, the north east is one of the most important economic regions and is now facing a major economic transition. 

Vasey will lead Scottish Enterprise’s work, as well as its partners, to promote investment, innovation and productivity in the north east, and support businesses and communities to make effective use of the opportunities presented by the net zero transition. 

Vasey’s appointment arrives as the agency looks to strengthen its regional focus, bringing together expertise, collaborations and investment to aid the next phase of economic growth within Scotland’s north east.

Vasey joins the agency from Adura (joint venture between Shell and Equinor), where she took senior leadership positions across energy transition, major projects and operational leadership. 

Vasey was most recently the general manager for West of Shetland Assets and formerly spearheaded Shell Aberdeen’s Energy Transition team, influencing strategy and major investments.
