SELECT scoops award as part of ECA’s 125th anniversary celebrations

The Scottish campaigning trade body SELECT has received a special award from the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) as part of the ECA’s 125th anniversary celebrations.

At the ECA Industry Awards, held at the Hilton London Bankside on 9 October, SELECT was presented with the ECA 125th Anniversary Valued Partner Award.

The award recognises SELECT’s ongoing partnership with ECA and its involvement in supporting electrical contractors, promoting technical excellence, and increasing standards in the electrotechnical industry.

The award arrives a year after SELECT celebrated its 125th anniversary by presenting ECA with a Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognised its contribution to the electrical sector.

Steve Bratt, group chief executive officer of ECA, said: “SELECT has been a valued and trusted partner of ECA for many years and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to supporting contractors, championing quality and advancing the interests of the electrotechnical sector.

“As ECA celebrates 125 years, it was important for us to recognise organisations that have made a significant contribution to our industry and to our work.”

Sharon Miller, managing director of SELECT, said: “ECA has represented and supported electrical contractors for 125 years and has played a hugely significant role in helping shape our industry.

“This award reflects not only the strong relationship between our two organisations but also our shared commitment to promoting excellence, professionalism and the highest standards of workmanship across the sector by protecting the title of electrician.”

SELECT president Darren Crockett said: “SELECT and ECA have both spent more than a century championing the interests of electrical contractors and supporting the development of a skilled, professional and highly competent workforce.

“While our organisations represent contractors on either side of the border, we share many common goals and challenges, and our close working relationship continues to deliver benefits for the wider industry.”
