The homebuilders are encouraging applications for apprenticeships in Joinery, Bricklaying and Painting & Decorating, with applications open until 31 March 2026.

Operating across the North of Scotland, the Springfield Group has a long-standing commitment to developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople having recruited their first apprentice a quarter of a century ago.

Springfield and Tulloch apprentices benefit from a combination of college-based learning and hands-on site experience, working alongside experienced tradespeople on live developments across the region.

The business currently employs around a quarter of their site workers as apprentices, supporting local people with a new career while future proofing the workforce in the construction sector. The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) estimated that the Scottish sector requires an additional 26,000 workers to meet demand by 2028. With an economic boom expected in the North of Scotland, a number of these roles will be required across the Highlands and Moray.

Apprentice Joiner, Michael Krawczyk, who is in his final year and has worked on developments across Moray and the Highlands, said: “I wanted a career where I could learn practical skills and see the results of my work at the end of each day. The apprenticeship has given me that - you’re learning at college and then putting those skills straight into practice on site.

“What I enjoy most is the sense of pride. You can walk past a development and say, ‘I worked on that.’ That feeling doesn’t get old.

“It’s hard work at times, but if you’re willing to put the effort in, it’s absolutely worth it. The skills you gain stay with you for life and open up so many opportunities for the future. If you’re thinking about applying, I’d say go for it - it could be the start of a really rewarding career.”
