Stewart Milne homes scoop top industry awards

Stewart Milne Homes has been recognised for the quality of their workmanship in creating new homes with several awards.

The housebuilder was awarded ‘Excellence in Health & Safety ’at the Trades Award which showcases the knowledge, experience and integrity the North-East trades industry has to offer.

The company also received an NHBC ‘Pride in the Job Quality’ award for site manager Ryan Fenton and the team at Monarch’s Rise in Arbroath.



Site manager, Ronnie Falconer was awarded the accolade for NHBC ‘Best Site for Health and Safety’ where he and his team at Den View, Kingswells were recognised for their continuous efforts to create a safe and pleasant environment for residents.

John Low, managing director of Stewart Milne Homes, added: “We are very proud that our team have been recognised for their hard work and commitment to creating quality new communities across the North East.

“These awards shine a spotlight on the calibre of trades in the North East of Scotland and the accolades for Stewart Milne Homes highlights our dedication to designing and building our homes to the highest quality standards of craftsmanship.”

A trio of staff were also recognised with Highly Commended accolades at the Trades Awards.



Site manager, Darren Ferguson was noted for his work at Westfield at Broadshade and also Aberdeen’s new community at Regency Place, Countesswells.

Darren, from Redmoss, joined Stewart Milne Homes as an Assistant Site Manager in 2007 and was quickly promoted as a result of his drive, determination and leadership skills.

He was recognised for attention to detail at every stage of the build process, organisation of work flows and management of the site which makes for a harmonious environment for internal and external contractors. His site presentations and customer environments are also used as a benchmark for other sites to learn from.

Laura Cruickshanks, from Danestone, joined Stewart Milne Homes as graduate in 2013 and was acknowledged in the Young Surveyor category. She is currently studying to become a Chartered Surveyor whilst running two significant projects for the housebuilder and is recognised a huge asset to the Commercial team at Stewart Milne.



Apprentice plumber, Lewis Marnoch, was highly commended in the Trade Apprentice section for his work at Regency Place, Countesswells where he was recognised as a hard-working, dedicated and motivated individual for his on-site expertise and personal drive.

His high levels of skill and workmanship were also acknowledged by North East College in 2016 when he was presented with the SP Plumbing Education and Training Award for ‘Best in Class.
