Stromness development brief opens for consultation

A series of drop-in events are due to be held in Stromness for local people to find out more about the allocated development areas in the south end of the town.

The draft Stromness South End Development Brief lays out a development strategy for six of the allocation sites - and the Council’s Development and Marine Planning Team are now seeking public views on the proposed document.

Drop in events are being held at the Warehouse Buildings on:

  • Thursday 17th August 11am to 5pm
  • Friday 18th August 11am to 5pm
  • Saturday 19th August 11am to 3pm

Team members will be on hand to talk through the proposals and gather views.

The events are part of an eight-week public consultation ending on 20 September 2023.

The Draft Stromness South End Development Brief can be downloaded from the council website at www.orkney.gov.uk/StromnessSouth and a paper copy can be viewed at the Warehouse Building in Stromness.
