Strong start to year for SRE Group
10 Bothwell Street
Property firm the SRE Group has enjoyed a strong start to the year with two sales of commercial properties within its extensive portfolio, as well as letting deals spanning 20,000 sq.ft. and £500,000 invested in refurbishing current developments in Glasgow.
With a strategy of focusing on prime city centre assets, the group has sold both 37 Otago Street and the second floor of 162 Buchanan Street in sales totalling £1.973 million, allowing it to focus on its flagship commercial developments such as The Bookshop and The Courtyard.
With both sales to private investors, 37 Otago Street is a prominent West End development opportunity, whilst the floor at 162 Buchanan Street has been sold for owner occupation.
The Courtyard
With 20,000 sq.ft of deals across six developments in key lettings to Black & Lizars and Lime Energy, a strong Q2 is also projected for the group.
John Grewar, who manages lettings for the SRE Group, said: “Whilst the perception may be that the Glasgow market is somewhat static at present, this is certainly not the case for the SRE Group.
“The sales of these two properties allow us to really hone in on our key flagship developments in Glasgow’s prime office district, so that we can continue to invest in creating top-quality, ‘plug and play’ space, where tenants can walk into a workplace already designed and created for them.
“This is where the key demand is – space that is ready to go, without the time and investment it takes for businesses to start from scratch.
“Q2 looks to be strong with 10,000 sq.ft. of deals already lined up across five transactions.”
