The announcement comes after the CITB’s call for applications earlier in 2026. 

The new fund has been introduced in a bid to tackle obstacles to training within specialist construction trades. 

In Scotland, one of the successful applicants is the Scottish Civils Training Group, which works to strengthen safety and efficiency within Scotland’s civil engineering sector.

Each successful organisation will help employers access training and support the uptake of NVQ achievements that are sector-specific. 

The successful applicants are: 

• Civils, infrastructure and highways (England and Wales) – Jones HSEPM Ltd
• Civils, infrastructure and highways (Scotland) – Scottish Civils Training Group (SCTG)
• Fit out, dry lining and plastering – Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS)
• Heritage, including stone masonry and oak framing – CraftGate
• Plant hire – Hire Association Europe (HAE)
• RMI and retrofit – Dry Lining and Plastering Training Forum
• Roofing – SIMIAN
• Shopfitting – National Association of Shopfitters (NAS)
• Tunnelling and drilling – TunnelSkills
• Wood occupations – British Woodworking Federation (BWF)
• Other – Contract Flooring Association (CFA)  
   

Every applicant will start providing training support and guidance to employers within their sector, addressing the skills gap in areas like heritage crafts and retrofit.
