Sweco brings in new chief sustainability officer

Andreas Gyllenhammar has been appointed the new chief sustainability officer at Sweco.

He succeeds Mattias Goldmann who has decided to pursue new opportunities outside of the company.

Andreas Gyllenhammar, currently head of strategy, innovation and sustainability at the Swedish energy company Jämtkraft, will take on the role of chief sustainability officer for Sweco Group and for Sweco Sweden. Andreas Gyllenhammar is returning to Sweco, having previously worked more than ten years for the company.

“I have always enjoyed working for Sweco, sustainability is truly at the core of Sweco’s business. I am very excited about Sweco’s role and responsibility in transforming society together with the clients. My focus will be on continuing to develop the exciting journey that Sweco is on,” said Andreas Gyllenhammar.

Åsa Bergman, president and CEO of Sweco, added: “With Andreas Gyllenhammar we will take the next steps in developing Sweco’s ambition to identify and implement the best solutions together with our clients. As the leading company in Europe in our industry we have great opportunities, but also a responsibility, to lead the way in transforming our societies in a sustainable direction. I would also like to thank Mattias Goldmann for his contribution in setting a climate neutrality goal for Sweco’s operations but most importantly, for increasing the level of sustainability deliveries in our client projects.”

Andreas Gyllenhammar will begin his new position on October 1.
