Taylor Wimpey begins work at Dolphingstone Grange

Taylor Wimpey has started construction on its Dolphingstone Grange development, located near Wallyford.

This is the second phase of a project that will bring approximately 700 new homes to this corner of East Lothian.

Following the detailed planning consent granted by East Lothian Council in August 2025, Dolphingstone Grange, located off the A199, will offer a choice of two, three, and four-bedroom homes in a mix of terraced, semi-detached, and detached styles as well as two-bedroom apartments to appeal to a broad range of buyers.

As well as delivering a vital part of the Dolphingstone masterplan, this development will also be the first location in East Lothian that will be home to Taylor Wimpey’s new national house types, adding more choice for customers choosing a new home in the local area.

The Dolphingstone masterplan includes plans for new foot and cycle connections, fostering an active travel corridor to Wallyford and the local train station. Financial contributions of over £6.4 million will be made to fund education capacity and transport improvements, as well as a contribution of £186,000 to Network Rail for enhancements towards the rail link to Wallyford.

Pauline Mills, technical director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Starting construction on our Dolphingstone Grange development represents our ongoing commitment to East Lothian. This impressive development will provide a comprehensive range of high-quality homes and contributing to the local community’s growth and development.”

Dolphingstone Grange complements Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s other projects in the region, including its developments at Ravensheugh Heights in Wallyford, Letham Meadows in Haddington, and Belhaven Way in Dunbar.
