Taylor Wimpey secures planning consent for new homes in Livingston

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has received planning approval from West Lothian Council for its proposed development at the former Brotherton Farm in Livingston.

The approved plans will deliver 293 new homes, including 25% affordable housing, continuing the company’s commitment to building thriving communities in Scotland.

Limefield Grove will offer a diverse range of two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes, designed to appeal to a wide range of buyers. Affordable housing will comprise one, two, three, and four-bedroom properties, which are anticipated to be available for social rent, helping to address local housing needs.

This impressive development will also feature nine acres of open space, including a new linear park, an equipped play area, and enhanced pedestrian and cycle links. These green connections will integrate seamlessly with the surrounding area, providing residents with access to Limefield Glen and ensuring a tranquil living environment.

Pauline Mills, technical director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Securing planning consent for Limefield Grove represents a significant investment in West Lothian, and we look forward to delivering a well-designed, sustainable development that complements the local landscape.

“In addition to offering an impressive range of new homes, the project will support local jobs, boost biodiversity, and enhance connections for both residents and the wider community.”

The development will incorporate industry-leading biodiversity measures at Limefield Grove, including bug hotels, bird and bat boxes, bee-friendly planting, and high-quality biodiverse landscaping. Each home will also feature high-performance building fabrics to reduce its carbon footprint, aligning with Taylor Wimpey’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

As well as new homes, Limefield Grove is expected to bring economic benefits to Livingston, supporting jobs during construction and stimulating local businesses.
