Scottish construction consultancy Thomson Gray has been named as a finalist in three categories across two UK awards.

The Edinburgh-headquartered firm has been shortlisted for Construction Consultant/Surveyor of the Year (fewer than 100 staff) at the 2026 UK Building Awards, where it is the only Scotland-headquartered consultancy in the finalists in its category.

The firm has also gained two places on the shortlist for the SME National Business Awards 2026, in the Business of the Year (More than 50 Employees) and Apprentice Employer of the Year categories.

The three nominations recognise ongoing growth in the business and its investment in developing future construction professionals.

Stuart Gray, managing director of Thomson Gray, said: “To be shortlisted for three national awards is a fantastic endorsement of the work being done right across Thomson Gray.”

Gray added: “What matters most is that these nominations recognise two sides of the business that go hand in hand: the quality of the work we deliver for our clients and the time we invest in our people.

“The Apprentice Employer of the Year nomination means a great deal to us because developing people and giving them the opportunity to build long-term careers in the industry has always been a big part of how we operate.”

The Building Awards are one of the UK construction industry’s leading awards, recognising businesses, projects and professionals from across the sector.

During the Building Awards ceremony on 3 November 2026 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, the winners will be announced.

The SME National Business Awards reward the achievements of small and medium-sized businesses from across the UK.

The firm’s two nominations recognise the performance of the wider business and its strategy behind recruiting, training and developing apprentices.

At the SME National Business Awards ceremony on 6 November 2026 at the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge, the winners will be named.
