Tobermore launches hard landscaping support service

Construction manufacturer Tobermore has launched a comprehensive hard landscaping support hub.

The Create & Construct service is designed to give contractors and installers access to a comprehensive range of tools, services, resources and advice during the tender, construction and maintenance stages of their projects.

“Contractors and installers are under pressure to deliver high quality jobs as quickly and cost effectively as possible, so we know they value being able to access the support they need when they need it,” said Laura Steele, head of commercial sales GB at Tobermore. “The Construct element of Create & Construct gives customers access to a suite of free online tools and resources that provide practical guidance to help deliver projects with confidence.”

“This is backed up by our design and technical teams, as well as our civil engineering partners, who can provide specific advice about how to tackle the unique challenges presented by their project.”

Construct combines 10 different services designed to ensure construction and installation are correct, help solve technical challenges, and answer maintenance and care questions for the finished project.

Included is access to Tobermore’s 2D and 3D design services which support the tender process. The 2D service takes the design team’s plans and translates them into polished, project-ready drawings. The 3D design service enables contractors to walk clients through project-specific CGI visuals that showcase the textures, patterns, and surfaces that define the design.

Comprehensive technical support includes fully indemnified permeable paving design and sub-base specification for block, slab and permeable paving. There is also a suite of services to support the successful construction of retaining walls, including design, materials and labour costing, as well as for simplifying value engineering of hard landscaping projects.

“Whether the specified material is unavailable within the required lead time or budgets are being squeezed, searching for equal and approved product substitutions can be extremely time consuming,” added Laura. “So, we have included free Value Engineering (VE) support as part of the Construct element of Create & Construct to help save contractors time and money without compromising on quality.”

Contractors can arrange a Virtual Sample Studio session, which allows them to view samples and speak with Tobermore’s expert team via video call. They can even request a sample wall so they can see the form and function of facing brick walls on site.

To simplify installation, construction teams have access to a comprehensive range of ready-to-use laying patterns for block, slab and permeable paving that enhance visual interest. There are layouts suitable for every application, from residential streetscapes to commercial plazas.

There’s also a download section which includes specification sheets, environmental data and product performance information, as well as guidance on installation and maintenance.
