Total retro-fit bill of £100m for over 300 Scottish high-rise blocks with no sprinklers

There are no sprinklers in over 300 high-rise buildings managed by Scottish councils and social landlords, a new BBC Scotland investigation in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire has revealed.

South Ayrshire Council was the only local authority which said it had installed sprinklers in older high-rise blocks during the refurbishment of three tower blocks in 2003.
