Transport Scotland to lead strategic sessions at Road Expo & Bridges Scotland 2025

Transport Scotland will take centre stage at Road Expo and Bridges Scotland 2025, Scotland’s leading transport infrastructure events, taking place November 26-27 at SEC Glasgow.

The co-located events will showcase Transport Scotland’s strategic priorities, major project updates, and vision for Scotland’s transport future.

Key Transport Scotland Participation

Road Expo will feature a ministerial keynote on road safety strategy, alongside major project updates, including the A9 Dualling Programme from Gemma Patterson, head of programme delivery. Transport Scotland’s ambitious plan to deliver 30,000 public EV charge points by 2030 will be outlined, supporting Scotland’s transition to Net Zero by 2045.

Hugh Gillies, director of roads at Transport Scotland, will lead discussions on addressing the critical transport skills shortage, while Alan Ferguson, materials advisor, will discuss data-driven road maintenance planning.

Bridges Scotland will showcase Transport Scotland’s bridge expertise through presentations on the Forth Road Bridge main cable inspection programme and asset management frameworks for Scotland’s bridge infrastructure.

The events, organised in partnership with Transport Scotland, will bring together over 2,000 delegates from across Scotland’s transport sector, including representatives from every major Scottish local authority, contractors, consultants, and technology providers.
