Trump’s Aberdeenshire golf resort set for more guest accommodation
Donald Trump has secured planning permission to convert five properties overlooking his Aberdeenshire golf resort into luxury guest accommodation.
The Trump family business has spent more than £600,000 acquiring the homes, known as the Coastguard Cottages, which sit beside Trump International Golf Links on the Menie estate. The properties have been empty for some time, and staff have already carried out extensive renovation work.
Earlier this year, a planning application was lodged with Aberdeenshire Council seeking to change the use of the cottages from residential dwellings to hotel guest accommodation. The units will operate as additional lodging for the estate’s five‑star Macleod House and Lodge hotel.
Plans show each cottage will include two en‑suite bedrooms, a living and dining space and a kitchen. Planning officials approved the proposal after no objections were submitted. According to the Trump International Golf Links website, the cottages will be relaunched under the name Great North Sea Residences.
