Turner & Townsend commits £82,500 towards new GCU scholarships

Professional services company Turner & Townsend has pledged £82,500 to fund 10 new scholarships for students in quantity surveying and risk management at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), kick-starting a major new philanthropic partnership.

The scholarships will support students enrolled in the School of Science and Engineering and the University’s Glasgow School for Business and Society, covering the duration of their four-year BSc and BA (Hons) programmes.

This donation builds on the success of GCU’s 150th Anniversary Campaign, which has already attracted landmark contributions, including £500,000 from Sir Alex Ferguson CBE and alumnus Dr Murray Rowden, also of Turner & Townsend.

Together, these investments reflect a shared commitment to widening participation, breaking down financial and social barriers, and empowering the next generation of leaders in construction from diverse backgrounds − including students who are care‑experienced or estranged.

Through its support of GCU’s 150th Anniversary Campaign, Turner & Townsend is helping students access sector‑leading anniversary scholarships. Each scholarship offers a financial stipend, dedicated mentorship, an internship bursary and a guaranteed travel opportunity, providing recipients with both academic and professional enrichment.
