David McClure of Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has celebrated being crowned with a Pride in the Job Regional Award for his work at Castle Gate in Maidenhill.

The site manager was recognised in the Large builder category by the National House Building Council (NHBC) at The Hilton in Glasgow in October.

As the current holder of the NHBC’s UK Supreme award, David’s success at the event also included a top ten Seal of Excellence Award, and his colleagues Stuart Gillespie and David Cunningham also picked up a top ten place for their work at the housebuilder’s Oakwood View development in Hamilton and Amble Court in Jackton, East Kilbride.

Now in its 45th year, Pride in the Job has become the benchmark for exceptional site managers. Judging is rigorous, with assessment across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety. Pride in the Job has five categories: small, medium and large builders, multi-storey for projects up to seven storeys, and high-rise for projects more than seven.

Brian Henderson, production director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “Achieving and maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service is very important to our business, and we are delighted and very proud that David McClure’s exemplary record of years of quality and consistency has been recognised once again by the NHBC in these prestigious awards this year.

“David’s success in the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards has never been matched by another Taylor Wimpey West Scotland site manager, and it reflects our drive to deliver the highest quality, service and commitment to our customers. Winning the top Regional Award for the second year in a row ensures homebuyers that the homes at Castle Gate remain of the highest quality.

“We’re also delighted that Stuart Gillespie has continued to uphold his award-winning standards since joining our team, earning another top ten Seal of Excellence Award. We are equally proud that David Cunningham secured his first top ten place this year for his brilliant work at Amble Court in Jackton.”

David McClure, site manager at Castle Gate and the 2025 NHBC Large Category Regional Award winner in Scotland, added: “In my 25th year with the business, and as the current 2024 UK Supreme Award holder, this is a huge honour once again.

“Along with my team at Castle Gate in Maidenhill, I am passionate about delivering homes of the highest quality, and I’m delighted that the NHBC has acknowledged our consistent efforts. I’m looking forward to heading back to London to the next round of the competition later this month, when the regional winners will be judged in the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards.”

A series of regional events took place throughout the UK to announce the Regional and Seal of Excellence Award winners and celebrate the achievements of the Quality Award recipients.

The Regional Award winners will now compete for the ultimate prize in house building, the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards, which will be unveiled at a gala ceremony in London this month.
