Views sought on how digital technologies can transform delivery of building standards system

The Scottish Government is seeking views on how digital technologies can transform the delivery of building standards system.

The Building Standards Futures Board has confirmed their agreement with the government’s plans for the digital transformation of the building standards system in Scotland. Delivery of this transformation will be done in partnership with industry, and Local Authority Building Standards Scotland (LABSS) which represents all of the building standards professionals employed in local authorities.

As this work is at an early stage, a wide range of views are invited from customers of the building standards system to identify priorities for change. LABSS is best placed to consider these issues and has launched an online survey to gather views on how technology can improve the customer experience and compliance with building regulations.

The survey asks questions about how the current system could be improved with a focus on the use of technology to deliver services.

The survey will close on October 1.
