Webster Developments wins first contract with Hillcrest Homes

Following on from its successful engagement with Caledonia Housing Association in Perth, where a £1.1 million development is nearing completion at Crieff Road, contracting firm Webster Developments has announced that it has won another significant housing association contract.

Webster Developments wins first contract with Hillcrest Homes

The new £1.2m development will see Kinross-based Webster create eight new build flats at Old Causeway in Kinross for Hillcrest Homes, having first demolished the existing buildings on the site.

The two-bedroom flats will then be available for affordable rent by Hillcrest.

Work on site is estimated to begin around June 2021, with the demolition process, followed by an official ground breaking start in September. Estimated completion time for the project is June 2022.

Also undertaking private housebuilding contracts for luxury rural housing throughout Perth & Kinross, Webster Developments is responsible for the construction work on luxury brand Webster Homes, which is nearing completion of five detached houses at Gairneybank, Kinross. Now working on seven new build homes on a site in Powmill, near Dollar, the firm is fast making a name for itself with Housing Association contracts, delivering within the timeframes required, such as five new build apartments for Caledonia Housing Association in 2017, constructed at Wester Loan, in Milnathort.

Commenting on this latest contract gain, Daniel Webster of Webster Developments said: “We’re delighted to win this prestigious contract from Hillcrest Homes, a new name for us to work with, and one with whom we look forward to building a constructive working relationship. This contract represents a fantastic start to the year at what is a very challenging time for virtually all business sectors.”

Daniel explained that private and public sector work in Perth & Kinross had kick-started Webster Developments growth.

“We now work all over Scotland, and have had contracts as far away as the Isle of Skye,” said Daniel. “Housing Association work of this nature is very important to us though, and year on year we have built on our track record for this sector, even in the teeth of a terrible pandemic.”

Fiona Morrison, Hillcrest deputy chief executive, added: “We’re delighted to be working with Webster Developments on these new affordable, modern, and energy efficient apartments in Kinross. When completed, these properties won’t just continue the high standard of homes that we are committed to delivering for affordable rent, they are also being developed with the tenant in mind – providing them with warm, comfortable homes they can thrive in.”
