Whiteburn to deliver 110 new homes in Lauder

SME housebuilder Whiteburn has secured planning consent for 110 new homes at Allanbank, Lauder, in the Scottish Borders.

The development is located off Stow Road and will offer a mix of three and four-bedroom homes for sale.

Whiteburn has designed a range of contemporary homes for this development, including properties future-proofed for age-adaptation with ground-floor bedrooms and shower rooms, as well as homes with dedicated office spaces to support home working and work–life balance. All homes will benefit from full fibre-to-the-home connectivity.

Whiteburn’s director of sales, Toria Jones, said: “Our Allanbank development has been designed to offer a variety of new homes for a wide range of buyers. We believe buyers will find a home that suits them at  Allanbank, whatever their stage of home-buying journey. It is central to our design approach that our developments provide homes for an entire community.

“In addition, homeowners will enjoy contemporary, energy-efficient homes just a short walk from the heart of historic Lauder. We have already received strong  interest from local people and look forward to launching our new homes for sale in the spring.”

Director of design and development, Roger Bainbridge, said: “Allanbank has been designed to fully embrace the principles of placemaking, with pedestrian-friendly streets and landscaped walking routes. Both residents and the wider community will have access to the established woodland and pathways surrounding the development.

“We have created a range of new homes that share a cohesive palette of materials and landscaping, helping to establish a new neighbourhood in Lauder. With planning consent now in place, we can begin preparations for construction and anticipate starting on site in the coming months. Our team looks forward to returning to work in the Scottish Borders.”

Whiteburn’s managing director, Eve McCurrich, added: “This is a fantastic way for us to start 2026, with planning consent for Allanbank now issued. Whiteburn is firmly committed to delivering quality new homes and supporting the communities in which we build.

“Allanbank will not only provide a range of new homes for sale, it will also deliver 27 affordable homes for rent. The construction of these homes will support a diverse range of jobs and local businesses and, most importantly, bring 110 much-needed new homes to the Scottish Borders, contributing to the wider local economy. We welcome enquiries from local businesses interested in working with us to deliver Allanbank.”
