The winning design - created by Anna Tomczakowskai (aged 9) - has been recreated as signs that are now installed near the show homes of its latest phase of new homes at Broomhouse. Anna also won a £50 book token.

The overall standard of designs was so high that a further seven posters were chosen to create a banner for Taylor Wimpey’s show area car park to remind drivers to keep their speed down whilst moving around the area. Each child also received a £20 book token.

Working with St Bridget’s Primary School to convey such an important message has been a great opportunity to connect with the growing community at Broomhouse as Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: “We recognise the importance of making sure that we support the communities in which we build our new homes.

“It has been our pleasure to work with St Bridget’s Primary on this project and to strengthen and extend our links once again with the local community in Broomhouse and Baillieston. This project comes at a time when 20MPH is the aspired vehicle speed resulting from our detailed layout designs, and we hope Anna’s signs will serve as a reminder to drivers to maintain a safe vehicle speed.”

The children at St Bridget’s Primary rose to the challenge with the whole class taking part as Mrs O’Donnell Head Teacher at St Bridget’s comments: “ Having the opportunity to work with Taylor Wimpey to create speed signs has been an unusual challenge but a great way to deliver a very important message.

“This is a lovely connection between our school and the local Taylor Wimpey development at Broomhouse. The children all really enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design and we are very proud of their efforts.”
