Workplace design practice C2 Concepts becomes employee-owned

Glasgow and London-based workplace design specialist C2 Concepts has become employee-owned, with 100% of the shares transferred to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).
Established in 2003 by Mark Alcorn, the company works throughout the UK and internationally. It creates inspiring, effective destination workplaces for a diverse client list including businesses of all scales, working in sectors ranging from technology and financial services to fashion and the drinks industry.
In recent years, C2 has become equally well known for its creative reimagining of multi-tenanted office buildings for landlord clients. It also has a growing portfolio of adaptive reuse projects – including a Sikh gurdwara and a student residence created from outdated commercial buildings.
Mark Alcorn, who remains in his role as managing director, said: “C2 Concepts’ success is founded on our versatile, multi-talented team of designers, who combine creative flair, technical expertise and commercial acumen to deliver successful projects for our clients. This means that we punch well above our weight in terms of our client list, the size of our projects and the breadth of our experience.
“Transferring ownership of the company I founded nearly a quarter of a century ago gives the whole team a stake in the business. This will ensure that C2’s unique character and ethos can develop and thrive as a new generation of designers begins to move into leadership roles.”
The company’s new leadership team includes Jean Camplisson, David Kiernan, Laura Brunjes, David Macintyre and Mark Alcorn. The EOT trustees are Jean Camplisson, Laura Brunjes, Ralph Leishman and Mark Alcorn.
Laura Brunjes added: “This is such a positive move, based on a long term plan that everyone at C2 has a stake in. It’s exciting to be starting this new chapter together, and the whole team is very incentivised to continue C2’s story of success.”
C2 Concepts’ transition to employee ownership was managed by Ralph Leishman of 4Consulting with legal services provided by Michael Kelly of MFMac.
