Works commence on Denny housing development

Clark Contracts’ Housing division has commenced works to complete the construction of a £35.5 million residential development for Falkirk Council.

The development is being delivered in two phases, with the first phase providing 106 new homes alongside associated roads, services and landscaping to support a second phase of a further 31 properties. Once complete, the development will deliver a total of 137 new homes for the local area.

Located in the heart of Denny, the scheme will provide a mix of high‑quality homes for social rent, including one‑, two‑, three‑ and four‑bedroom properties. The development has been designed to meet a range of housing needs, with 25 homes constructed to enhanced accessibility standards for residents with mobility issues and seven properties designed specifically for wheelchair users.

All homes will be constructed to high environmental standards, incorporating sustainability features such as solar panels to generate electricity, which are included as part of the build.

The project has been supported by £12.6m in funding from the Scottish Government, alongside £1.2m from developer contributions.

Kenny Gillespie, Falkirk Council’s Head of Communities, Innovation and Housing, said: “There is a high demand for housing across the Falkirk area and this new development will help those with the highest housing needs.

“All of the properties will be built to the most modern standards offering tenants a home that will offer a high-quality residence in the heart of the local community.”

Michael Scanlan, director at Clark Contracts, added: “We are delighted to be working once again in partnership with Falkirk Council on a development that will deliver much‑needed new homes for the area.

“This project represents an important step in the continued growth of our Housing division, and we are proud to be creating a lasting benefit for the Denny community, with a positive impact that will be felt for years to come.”
