Young Professionals in Construction to celebrate first birthday

YPiC_event01Young Professionals in Construction (YPiC) is set to hold its latest networking event in Edinburgh tomorrow to celebrate the forum’s first birthday.

The forthcoming event will be hosted at Quartermile One from 6:30pm till 8:30pm.

Since the inaugural event last September, YPiC has hosted four networking evenings, alternating between Edinburgh and Glasgow and the committee has seen the membership rise to over 650+ construction professionals.

Developing from the first event, where Chris Stewart of the Chris Stewart Group addressed the attendees, YPiC has remained true to its core manifesto; delivering networking in a fresh and casual, but focused forum.

YPiC dominoesThe events have attracted other top speakers from the construction and property industry with Icecream architecture, Standard Life Investments and Page\Park all taking to the stage. Each speaker has addressed the room on a different facet of the industry, selected by the committee on their relevance to the membership.

Andrew Marshall of 3DReid and the YPiC Committee, said: “It has been a quick year for the committee and its warming to now reflect on how YPiC has grown in that short time. I recall the nervous excitement the team had, this time last year, ahead of the inaugural event, which resulted in an inspiring talk from Chris Stewart, to the 130 in attendance. Over the year the committee has sought feedback after each event and this has been reviewed, discussed and integrated into the forthcoming event.

“The format has remained close to the original concept and the positivity we have received from the industry has been excellent. Beyond the feedback, the numbers we have attracted to each event has given further confidence in the longevity of the forum.

“We sell out each event at around 100 attendees. Critical to the endurance of the event is support from the industry. Since we pitched our sponsorship opportunities to the industry, we’ve be delighted with the level of inquiries. We are thrilled to be able to make some announcements at the next YPiC Wednesday.”

Only a few spaces remain for tomorrow’s event and people are urged to sign up soon before capacity is reached.
