Maintenance Officer

Permanent, 35 hours per week, agile working (mainly 9:00 - 5:00pm Monday to Friday)
Salary – Grade 7 (£40,649-£44,626)
Closing Date – 13 July 2025

Do you have a qualified technical background that can be applied to managing a first class repairs service in our housing stock? Do you have a background of managing contractors? Can you drive performance and manage budgets? Do you have good organisational and IT skills? Do you ensure the customers always comes first?

Job Purpose:

As the Maintenance Officer for Queens Cross Housing Association, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that we provide a high quality repairs service in our 4,400 properties. Social housing experience would be an advantage but it is not essential – we are looking for candidates that understand the importance of good customer service, contract management and providing the best service possible whilst ensuring value for money.

You will

  • Assist in the organisation and management of reactive repairs service
  • Work closely with our contractor and customers to ensure excellent services
  • Build relationships and influence decision-making to enhance service delivery
  • Be comfortable implementing digital solutions and using software systems
  • Have excellent communication skills to engage with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience delivering a repairs and maintenance function in a customer service focussed environment.
  • Have experience in carrying out internal/external property inspections and assessing repair work required.
