Planned Works and Compliance Officer – Trust Housing Association

Are you experienced in property maintenance and refurbishment? Join our progressive housing association as a Planned Works and Compliance Officer within the Assets and Sustainability Team.

This full-time role offers blended working, flexible hours, and requires regular travel across mainland Scotland and the Highlands, with occasional overnight stays. You’ll manage and deliver planned works and cyclical compliance contracts, bringing strong technical knowledge in building components and services, team leadership, and contract oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Design & Specification: Collaborate with consultants and colleagues to prepare designs and specifications for refurbishments and upgrades.
    • Procurement: Use various procurement routes to prepare pricing documents in line with Trust policies and statutory requirements.
    • Contract Management: Oversee replacement contracts, chair meetings, manage delays, inspect works, and ensure documentation is complete.
    • Technical Support: Provide guidance during maintenance and compliance servicing, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions.
    • Compliance Monitoring: Review servicing contracts and maintenance reports, inspect works, and ensure remedial actions are taken.
    • Quality Control & Reporting: Conduct audits, prepare reports for internal use and regulatory submissions.
    • Health & Safety: Apply knowledge of regulations including asbestos, fire, gas, and electrical safety. Support CDM compliance and documentation.
    • Customer Care: Communicate with customers and stakeholders, resolve complaints, and ensure updates are provided.

Requirements:

    • Proven experience in planned works and compliance
    • Technical qualification (HNC or equivalent)
    • Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills (MS Office, Teams)
    • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
