Your new role

About the role

As a Senior Project manager you will be the project lead on key projects for the region. Involved from the preconstruction phase of projects you will develop project delivery strategies including programming, logistics, methodologies and scope of work.

It is intended that you will be the senior manager on site for our regional delivery team. This will require excellent team leader and communications skills in order to organise and at times, develop the team under your leadership.

You will work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, providing the necessary input to allow the Quantity Surveyor to report on the current and projected financial status of the project.

It is expected that you will display an absolute focus on construction site health, safety and environmental performance at all times and lead by example in this regard. Nothing is so important that you will not ensure that it is done safely.

You will display a non-compromising approach to quality in all aspects of construction delivery.

Other key aspects of the role include;

  • Developing Method Statements and Risk Assessments together with the Safety Plan and to observe the requirement of the CDM Regulations in the status of Principal Contractor
  • Provide leadership and support to all Employees within your team
  • Manage labour and maintain high productivity across direct and subcontracted resources
  • Closely manage development of designs in conjunction with our design manager - both from the lead consultant team and CDP contractors
  • Comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality Procedure and Manual
  • Manage all sub-contractors and supply chain effectively
  • Supervise the quality of the works and hand over a snag free building
  • Absolute focus on programme delivery with robust progress reporting and programme management in conjunction with the site planner
  • Leading project reporting - monthly client reports, internal project review reports and contributing to CVR reporting with commercial lead.

About you

You’ll have previous leadership experience in the construction industry, along with a degree in a built environment discipline or relevant trade expertise. Ability to supervise projects from inception to completion, whilst exemplifying our commitment to Health & Safety, and ensuring quality and best practice will be second nature to you. Above all, you’ll be a confident and credible communicator, who can explain complex issues to sub-contractors and clients at all levels of business.

Previous experience leading refurbishment projects and working on buildings with listed status is preferred.
