Caithness Broch Project

Plans to build the first new broch in two millennia have been given the go-ahead, marking a major milestone for one of Scotland’s most ambitious heritage projects.

A pioneering conservation project in Caithness has saved a prehistoric monument from ruin. The ruins of Ousdale Burn Broch, north of Helmsdale, had fallen into further disrepair over the past 130 years.
