SSEN Transmission has officially marked the start of early enabling works on its Spittal to Peterhead subsea cable link, a critical project that will strengthen Scotland’s energy network and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future.
Shetland-based civil and marine engineering firm Tulloch Developments has been awarded a multi-million-pound contract to deliver the civil engineering works for the Shetland HVDC link onshore cable installation.
Four contractors have been appointed by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) for the construction of a 600MW subsea electricity transmission link from Shetland to mainland Scotland.
