39 affordable homes given green light in Speyside

Springfield has received planning approval for 39 affordable homes in Aberlour as part of an invaluable investment for the village.

The site spanning 4.8 acres, just off the A95, will include 1-5 bedroom homes – including bungalows and apartments - all designed to be in keeping with the rural setting of the village.

The designs include walking, jogging and cycle routes to the wider community to encourage active living, a play area for children and a stone feature wall at the entrance.

This investment will boost the local economy and provide more housing options for local workers.

Springfield managing director for affordable housing, Tom Leggeat, said: “It is widely documented that there is a high demand for affordable housing in Speyside and we are pleased our plans for this long-awaited development have been approved to help relieve this.

“Our homes will bring much needed affordable housing to Aberlour that include innovative technology and quality insulation to ensure the homes are energy efficient and cost effective to run.

“We are currently in discussions with a housing provider to deliver this development in partnership with and hope to begin construction early 2024.”
