ADP Architecture has acquired London and Edinburgh-based Ethos Design and Architecture (EDA).

The acquisition, now complete, forms part of ADP’s growth strategy and brings the employee-owned practice’s staff total to 140.

ADP’s chief executive Stephen Miles said: “Following a short period of collaboration, we are delighted to formally welcome Scott Lawrie and his EDA team to the ADP family. Scott has a wealth of experience and has been a well-respected industry leader for many years.

“Our work together will add further commercial excellence to our joint offering, enabling us to expand further into the mixed-use residential, hospitality and infrastructure sectors. We are already progressing an established pipeline of exciting projects together, including major hotel and residential projects in Edinburgh and London.”

Together, the team are driving forward a range of exciting projects and opportunities, including Calderstone Resort, a hillside eco-hotel in Edinburgh, which is due to start on site in the next few weeks and the recently approved mixed-use 1000-unit masterplan in Romford.

EDA lead, Scott Lawrie, added: “We share many core aspirations and values around sustainability, design quality and purpose with ADP, which is also a certified B Corp, so it seemed a natural fit for us. We believe this move will enable us to make a bigger difference to the profession, to the built environment and ultimately to people’s lives.”
