And finally… Milk it

And finally. . . Milk it

Over 3,600 pints of locally produced milk have been given to David Wilson Homes residents across Scotland.

The housebuilder is marking six months of its partnership with Kerr’s Family Dairy and Mills Milk, with over 3,600 pints of locally produced milk given directly to residents at selected Aberdeen and West Lothian developments.

Providing a weekly glass bottle milk delivery service, the initiative is designed to foster more sustainable lifestyles while helping local Scottish businesses. The initiative, which was introduced in March, has been popular with new homeowners.

The Morning Pour service makes it easier for residents to receive fresh, locally produced milk on their doorstep, but also helps cut dependence on single-use packaging.

As of yet, hundreds of glass bottles have been reused through the initiative, while the collaboration continues to support long-standing Scottish dairy producers.

Residents moving into selected David Wilson Homes developments can have up to four pints of fresh milk every week for 12 months delivered in reusable glass bottles by Kerr’s Family Dairy and Mills Milk, as part of the campaign.

Alison Condie, regional managing director of Barratt Redrow, parent company of Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, in Scotland, said: “It has been fantastic to work alongside Kerr’s Family Dairy and Mills Milk to bring something a little different to our communities while supporting local businesses and encouraging more sustainable habits.

“Moving home is a major milestone, and we’re always looking for meaningful ways to make that experience even more enjoyable.”

Condie added: “The response so far shows that residents value both the convenience of doorstep deliveries and the opportunity to support local producers, and we’re excited to welcome even more homeowners to the initiative throughout the rest of the year.”

The Morning Pour is continuing within selected David Wilson Homes developments in Scotland and remains available to eligible residents moving into participating communities throughout this year.

Residents can choose between whole, semi-skimmed, oat or soya milk delivered directly to their doorstep every week throughout the partnership.

Kelvin Kerr, director at Kerr’s Family Dairy, said: “As a supplier that has been delivering fresh, locally produced milk to homes in the area for generations, it’s been great to see that traditional doorstep deliveries are still playing a role in modern, sustainable living.

“By combining the convenience of home delivery with reusable glass bottles, the partnership is showing that small changes can make a real difference to how we shop and live.”

Adam Mills, managing director, Mills Milk, said: “It’s fantastic to see residents embracing the convenience of doorstep delivery while choosing reusable glass bottles and supporting local Scottish business.”
