Arc-Tech and Maxi awarded Edinburgh school contract

Mechanical and electrical services contractor Arc-Tech (Scotland) Ltd has successfully been appointed to a City of Edinburgh Council school contract on behalf of Maxi Construction Ltd.

The works undertaken at Balgreen Primary School, located west of Edinburgh city centre, are being delivered as part of a refurbishment programme that will see a number of schools in the region upgraded including fabric repairs and mechanical and electrical services.

Arc-Tech will commence works on site in October delivering a suite of services including the installation of a new boilerhouse and heating systems, LV distribution, lighting and fire and intruder alarm systems.

Balgreen Primary School is the latest contract from within the education sector to benefit from Arc-Tech’s M&E expertise having successfully delivered a series of contracts in 2018 on behalf of Inverclyde Council and hub West Scotland which included the new build St Ninian’s Primary School and the refurbished Moorfoot Primary School located in Gourock.

John Gallacher, managing director of Arc-Tech, said: “The education sector in Scotland is one that is going through major changes with Local Authorities placing huge emphasis on improving the learning environment for pupils across the country. Our recent success in the sector will stand us in good stead as we commence work with our new client, Maxi Construction, and we look forward to working with them as we lead into 2019.”
