Arc-Tech (Scotland) Ltd has been granted a second major contract by main contractor ISG in the form of the Holyrood Distillery in Edinburgh.

The mechanical and electrical services provider will assist in the conversion of a 180-year old Category B-Listed building that was part of the Edinburgh & Dalkeith Railway (E&DR), known as “The Innocent Railway”, located in the city’s Old Town district.

The new distillery will deliver a series of whisky styles and craft gins, supporting the country’s growing gin industry, as well as a visitor centre to provide a sensory experience for visitors and tourists alike, when it opens in July.

Holyrood represents the second contract award to Arc-Tech in as many months following on from the recent commencement of works at George Watson’s College.

John Gallacher, managing director of Arc-Tech, said: “Arc-Tech are delighted to continue our work with ISG on one of the most interesting projects that is currently being undertaken in the country. It is a landmark contract for the city of Edinburgh and we will ensure that our part in the project will deliver on the quality standards expected by our client and Holyrood Distillery.

“We started on site in December 2018 and will deliver services that include drainage, heating and A.C as well all of the building’s fire, lighting and security systems. Working with ISG, we will deliver all the service solution within a 26-Week programme.”
