Bellway site manager George Carty has won a coveted building industry award for his work at The Marches development in Stepps.

George, from Cumbernauld Village, has been selected for a Pride in the Job Quality Award which will be presented at the Scotland Region lunch on 2nd October in the Hilton in Glasgow.

It is the fourth time George has landed a Pride in the Job Award and this latest recognition is doubly impressive as it comes just weeks after he was awarded an NHBC Health and Safety Award.

George said: “It is an honour to be recognised for doing a job that I love and this award is as much a tribute to Bellway and the fantastic team of people around me. We are all passionate about delivering the highest standards for our customers - a home is the biggest investment most people ever make and we strive to ensure every property we build exceeds their expectations.”

Pride in the Job is the house-building industry’s most prestigious awards programme. Running for 35 years, Pride in the Job is dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building.

George was one of 450 winners chosen from an initial pool of 15,000 site managers. He will go on to be entered for the Seals of Excellence and Regional Awards.

Fraser Conn, sales & marketing director, Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland), added: “George has been with us for 12 years now and is a real star – you would be hard pressed to find someone with more enthusiasm and a stronger work ethic. Anyone who ever visits The Marches comments on what a tidy development it is and are surprised that building work is quietly going ahead in the background.”
