It was another successful fundraising day for Breedon Scotland when it held its annual golf event at Gleneagles.

The weather was kind and 10 teams of four were made up of customers, stakeholders and Breedon staff for an individual and team Stableford competition. The individual winner was Grant Shewan from GPH Builders Merchants and the team winners were Alvar Kenwell from I&H Brown, Ian Oliver from BCJ Construction, Iain Murray from BEAR Scotland and Kevin Carmichael from Breedon.

Alan Mackenzie, managing director of Breedon Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have been able to raise funds for the Lighthouse Club Charity again this year. This is a cause close to our hearts, and we are proud to be able to help the Lighthouse Club provide assistance for colleagues throughout the construction industry. This year, we raised £4,500 on top of the £8,537.17 which was raised at last year’s event and my grateful thanks go to everyone who supported the day.”

Thank you messages were received from Breedon clients including Spencer Davies from FGD Ltd, who said: “Thank you for organising such a great event. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and best of luck with the charity. Keep up the great work and thank you for a fantastic time.”

Matthew Harrison from Day Group said: “I wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at Breedon for organising one of the best events I have had the pleasure to attend. I had a great time and the attention to detail was really splendid. Gleneagles is a stunning venue and it was a pleasure to share the time with the Breedon team and their guests.”

William MacElwain from Effiage added: “A belated thank you for organising a fantastic event – which I thoroughly enjoyed. The company was excellent and great to socialise with, and the setting would be difficult to beat - as always, the food was superb. Well done and thank you.”

Iain Murray of BEAR Scotland said: “It was a well-organised day and evening with great company which I thoroughly enjoyed.”

Jack Vettrino from Strathore Plant Hire Ltd added: “Many thanks for a lovely day and your excellent hospitality.”
