Build Lanarkshire, the free of charge instructional programme which guides local construction businesses on how to build the skills and internal capacity to win new work from both the public sector and Scotland’s Tier One building contractors, is recruiting for its 2022 programme, which will run from Wednesday 4 May until Wednesday 22 June 2022.

Run in partnership with North and South Lanarkshire Councils, the Build Lanarkshire programme is conducted by hub South West, the public-private partnership of local authorities, NHS, blue light services and leading construction industry Tier One building contractors.

The programme, comprising eight half-day sessions led by acknowledged experts in their fields, covers a range of critical business issues including Strategy, Leadership and Management, Team building, Digital Marketing and social media, Tendering & Procurement, Digital Accounting, Cyber security, and more.

To conclude each session, participants get the opportunity to meet and speak to representatives from a range of Tier One contractors.

The Build Lanarkshire programme culminates in an awards ceremony where each participating business presents itself in front of a panel comprising representatives of the two local authorities, Tier One contractors, and hub South West.

Michael Ross, chief executive of hub South West, said: “with this our fifth Build Lanarkshire initiative we are aiming to consolidate the success the programme has already achieved in delivering a broad understanding of the factors needed to win more new, bigger contracts from both Tier One contractors and the public sector.

“Every ambitious business in Lanarkshire which wants to grow and become more successful will get great rewards from enrolling in this free programme which has already benefited over many SMEs across the region.

“This is a very popular programme but there’s still a few places available.”
